Bowling Evening

My BuddyBaby -Liz from Prague- and I pose after winning the first round (we lost all subsequent rounds)
Bea takes her time as Mr. Feelings decides to check the instruction manual again

Mr. Feeling gets in position as Bea from Hungary tries to hide from the camera's inquisitive lens.
I don't want to sound negative, but bowling evenings usually really suck. Pounded into dust by people who assure you that it's the first time they play, a man's self esteem can see lows hitherto reserved to bad dreams of being in class only in one's underwear. On the Buddysystem Bowling night, it was time again to be subject to this intricate game of subjugation. Luckily, I atually had pleasant company to easen the pain... So this time, I can say for the first time that BowlingNight was not a complete fiasco.

EuroLDS: The world pales in comparison.

As all of my posts, this one starts at the bottom... So scroll down and read up! NEW! Updated Post -

The dream is over... Group Bobbystyle gives one last pose before we go...

The Khazak delegation had us sign a banana. It was probably the most sane thing we did at the conference.

Someone tell this Dutchman that Global Village is over...

The next morning, everyone slipped into suits to pretend nothing had happened... I fought hard to hide the amortization... I lost:
The Beauty and the Beast.

Memories become fuzzy after this point. However, it is when the party really took off. (My last photo is dated 2 hours after this one. What remains is the wildest, craziest party of my life..

I pose with Petra, a particularly pleasant member of the Hungarian delegation.

I left the Swiss stand for some adventure. I'm not sure who took this picture; It was taken before I was hit with a cannoball combination of snooz tobacco, caviar and two shots of single-malt at the Norwegian stand. It hardly threw me off, however; i was determined to give every stand a chance to wow me with their local foods and bevarages.

Candy (name changed to maintain social acceptance) came to our stand, wanting to get a nice Swiss drink. All we could offer her was some 55% Kirsch.

The Dutch stand assumes position. On the left is Kris, whose family owns a liquour empire. Needless to say, Kris did not come empty-handed.

Like some carefully orchestrated Greek Tragedy, we were heading towards climax. On the picture, last minute preparations at the Turkish stand for the ominous Global Village

We did a bit of a photoshooting on the beach next day, to practice team bonding...

Already on the second night, which was but an introduction, people were quite crazy...

Then the second day started... left to right: Dänu from Berne and Marc, (my man for external relations) preparing to sheik things up.

The official part was already quite fun, with activities designed for ten-year olds performed by people more than twice that age with a wicked hangover from the party the day before...

The Backdrop: hundreds of people in AIESEC EB (executive board) positions wanting to learn more about Europe and the world around them... The conference was very educational, but due to my target audience on this blog, I will focus on nocturnal activities...

Did you ever look out the window and think, what must it be like right now... at the most whacked out place in the world ? Well, from sunday, the 12th or March to friday, the 17th, we no longer asked. We were too busy being there. It's damn hard to tell the story through pictures, especially if you have a lousy photographer. But EuroLDS was so crazy, so whacked, and so great, some things shine through...

Föld, Föld (Sentimental Journey)

Where will this road lead?

And then, you let go...

A typical street in Szigetszentmiklos. Most people in this town are neither rich, nor poor; they have what they need.

Szigetszentmiklos is surrounded by no man's land - some places, it creeps into the city...

Before I went to Belgium, I flew back to Hungary for a short week. It ended up being
a kind of journey home. The old church in Sigetszentmiklos. I had first communion here.

Noblesse Oblige

Insanity is relative. To some people, blowing open a rabbit with a burst of high-pressured air is actually a groundbreaking idea just waiting to be shared with others.

There is no justice on the internet.

I got bored with studying for the ln(e^x+1)st exam, so I started googling my old friends from Brookline. Now, I knew that both Liam Moran and Katie Greenzang from Driscoll school had made it to Harvard, so I suspected that the two had made most of the last decade. I was not dissappointed: apparetly Liam (who I used to do short skits with in english class) is now an opera singer at the Metropolitan Opera (Boston)! And Katie (who I edited the school yearbook with) has become a doctor, publishing several papers in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, gaining research grants from Harvard and other Universities.
By comparison, if you google berti moravanszky, you get a recipe for noodles with cheese curd. I am, however, working on this issue. Meaning on becoming a valuable member of society (my gastronomical skills have already been perfected).

What is The Meaning of Life? This Blog gives answers.

Guys, in my never-ebbing quest to find the meaning of life, I have decided to harness the power of Google. I Googled "the meaning of life is" to find out the truth.

the meaning of life is a personal choice.
the meaning of life is cognitively meaningless
the meaning of life is pick up an item and use it somewhere else
the meaning of life is a struggle
the meaning of life is to aquire happyness
the meaning of life is to live
The Meaning of Life is the title of a 1983 Monty Python film

I hope this helps,

Berti.

P.S: It was only after this post, that, paging through 100 other blogs, I came up with the FIRST RULE OF BLOGGING, or what bloggers should have the guts to think more often when weighing posting the latest creative outburst:

"...yes, but strangers don't really care about that..."

What is Fusion?

Prüfungszeit gets to you, probably like the way 'Nam got to you, in those days. First, it probably only made you harder, but then, you know, it started messing with your mind... Thats why Im posting this right now. To prove to you that you don't need to be pumped full of LSD to fail the creative writing competition with only one entrand called my blog.

You see, there are three types of blogs. There are those like Philippe's, which attempt to retain high hit statistics by posting +/- useful, niche-market information. There are those that bask in the glory of exhibitionistic hedonism, like my brother's entry. There are travel blogs, which, if the person knows how to live, are a particularly crass undercategory of this category.
Finally, there are the rest, which overload you with the -let's face it- rather freaky "creative" world of the suffering, yet explosively self-absorbed guy or girl making it. For the rest of us, these artist websites are about as exciting as watching a concert for cymbals and solo harp.

So now for my revolutionary concept: FUSION. That's right. You see, in economics, we learn that with economies of scale, sometimes the sum effect of merger can be bigger than the mere addition of its parts... That's why, from now on, as before, this site will be bringing you informative pictures of hedonistic activity with comments by an explosively creative yet - ah, you get the picture.

More from the Treasure Trove.

Have fun finding Waldo.

Birthday, boy.

Today is my birthday. Or, that special time of the year when you're supposed to feel happy getting older... Well you know, I did..... Yeah, when I was like, five....
So all you friends of mine who check on this blog every half an eon or so and therefore forgot all about this, rest assured that I'm not pissed at you for not having mentionend me getting older. I'm pissed at you that you didn't get me presents...
Anyway, unlike Eminem, who wishes for "...a big enough ass... for the whole world to kiss.." [Eminem: If I had...], all I wish for is to understand Microeconomics IV by next tuesday... :D

Stress me Silly

I just bought Philippe's ol' h6340 and am enjoying every minute, especially with the new GPS unit that also came with it... I went to school with it in my pocket with the lady telling me "nach möglichkeit, wenden... " I'm like, lady, I pay you to tell me the fastest way to get from A to B, not to make far-fetched, (perhaps metaphoric, pseudo-existentialist) statements about a university that is right the heck in front of me, and let's face it, I can also find without GPS....

Guys, I know.

I should be living less and posting more. But just try to understand... Im under considerable time pressure, and until Asel sends me the photos of the AIESEC elections, youll just have to make due with this picture of some ass.

TOEFL Scores

Apparently, by some sleight-of-life, the little jaunt to Duesseldorf resulted in a fair enough score to meet the requirements at my school. This should clear the way, paradoxical as it may be, for me to go to Paris. In fact, if I am very lucky, then I might even get to the school of schools, the ominous HEC. I'm scared of this already... when will all my hochstaplerei come tumbling down? Or will I just be free to go, only to have angry Parisienne People dump my flaccid body into the turbid Seine?

The Impromptu Dinner

The Poser WG.

Zdenek; Niki; Claudia; Berti.

Zdenek and Claudia philosophize over the temporary nature of friendship in the internet age.

Moving along these Weeks

Well, Let me just give you all a few impressions of what I have been up to the last few weeks....

The AIESEC Christmas dinner. I actually got an award! Thanx guys!

Then a Quicktrip to do the TOEFL to Düsseldorf and Munich with my main men Leo (l.), Hendrik (r.), Akin (not pictured). Leo is a crazy guy from Moscow, just the sort of person whos usually really missing at the university.

Then it all went very quickly: the next night we had to leave for the Orchestra trip (somewhere in Austria). To my right, speeding through this town, Raphael.

And the less beautiful inside. At least I got every girl's sympathy the next day...

Do-IT: The beautiful Melancholy outside...

A Hungarian Dinner. Alot of new faces; I was happy to greet Claudia (Neuweiler), Tibor, Zoli (always a pleasure), Márton...
